PÀIJEDA, A MONEGASQUE MARTIAL ART, FIRST MONEGASQUE MARTIAL ART RECOGNIZED INTERNATIONALLY

Thanks to the support of

  • HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco,
  • His government,
  • the Monégasque Olympic Committee,
  • Peace and Sport (Official Partner),
  • The International Hall of Fame of Martial in Valencia (Spain),the Principality of Monaco, with Pàijeda, is one of the countries to which a national martial art, defence art or combat sport, is associated and recognized.

A few examples among others:

  • USA (kickboxing and full-contact kickboxing created in the 1970s and mixed martial arts (MMA) in the 1990.
  • Israel (Krav Maga created mid-20th century);
  • Russia (sambo created at the beginning of the 20th century);
  • France (French foot fighting created in the 19th century);
  • Thailand (Thai kickboxing created in the 15th century);
  • China (the ancestral discipline of Wushu);

Pàijeda, a composition of ‘pàije’, meaning peace in the Monégasque language, and the initials DA, from Defence Art (the art of defending peace), is a modern, Monégasque martial art, defence art (arte d’a defesa) and combat sport (sport di combatimentu), accessible to all, from children (as an educative discipline) to senior citizens as a leisure or other activity (personal safety/competition).
